What is the best way to clean luxury vinyl flooring?
Homeowners, designers, and builders all love luxury vinyl?(LVF) for its many benefits, including low maintenance.? Who has the time anymore, or even the desire, to scrub floors? What?s more, it's stylish, affordable, and durable with an uncomplicated installation.? Here, we?ll focus on cleaning tips.
As always, prevention is better than cure
Whether you have the LVF cut into square, groutable pieces called luxury vinyl tile flooring (LVT)? or planks called LVP, the cleaning is all the same.? Sweep daily, getting into corners and under cabinets so that dirt won?t scratch or embed.? Mop weekly with a manufacturer-approved cleaner, avoiding waxy, shine-promoting cleaners that can damage the finish and dull.
Vinegar is strong enough to eliminate dirt (but be sure it?s diluted) without leaving a waxy build-up. A great make-your-own is to mix one cup of apple cider vinegar to one gallon of hot water; if you want to disinfect as you clean, you can use white vinegar. If your floors are dirty, add a few drops of dish detergent, but then mop them again with only the vinegar and water solution.
For tough stains, make a paste of baking soda and water and remove oil, lemon, and vinegar drops immediately as they can stain and discolor. For hard-to-remove spills like tomato sauce, crayons or markers,? blot some very, very diluted alcohol on the stain; leave for a few minutes, and then wipe off.
Luxury vinyl tile and plank: budget-friendly high-end style
Images of wood, stone, and tile are taken with 3D photography with micro beveling and embossing to add depth, dimension, and textured appearances such as wire-brushed, hand scraped, weathered, or distressed. LVF is durable with a top, clear, strong wear sheet that protects the floor from scratches and scuffs, and installation can be a fast and straightforward floating floor, which is click, mat, and hover.
